Several ministers from the Red and White Cabinet convened at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta to tackle the issue of PT Sritex employees who had been laid off. The meeting, led by Prabowo, focused on finding solutions for the affected workers. In attendance were Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and PT Sritex Curator Nurma Sadikin.

Prasetyo underscored the president’s concern for the workers and stressed the need to address the challenges faced by PT Sritex following its bankruptcy declaration in October 2024. The objective is to rehire approximately 8,000 employees through a new working plan in the textile sector. Minister Yassierli praised the curator’s initiatives to potentially have former Sritex employees back on board within the next two weeks.

Additionally, Prabowo’s commitment to offering support and guidance is poised to bring relief to the affected PT Sritex employees. The Ministry of Manpower is actively protecting the rights of PT Sritex Group employees by ensuring they receive their layoff settlements and other entitlements. The PT Sritex Curator Team is presently in the process of selecting investors to oversee Sritex’s assets under a fresh scheme, ultimately resulting in the re-employment of the displaced workers. This strategic move aims to provide stability to the impacted employees and offer a resolution to their existing predicament.
