President Prabowo Subianto has shown his confidence in Indonesia’s ability to achieve net-zero carbon emissions on schedule, positioning the country as a frontrunner in this remarkable achievement. In a video conference focusing on the inauguration of renewable energy projects and oil production expansion in East Java, Prabowo underscored Indonesia’s capacity to efficiently generate energy while reducing costly logistics chains.
Highlighting the crucial role of energy independence in Indonesia’s vision for national sovereignty, the government has unveiled plans to launch 55 new renewable energy projects, including geothermal power plants. These initiatives aim to deliver clean, reliable, and efficient energy throughout the archipelago.
President Prabowo commended the collaborative efforts of various ministries, regulatory bodies, and energy companies such as Medco Energi and ExxonMobil for their support in Indonesia’s energy transformation. Despite acknowledging the country’s significant oil and gas reserves, he emphasized the necessity of embracing renewable energy sources, particularly solar power, to ensure energy self-sufficiency for communities nationwide.
Prabowo expressed his optimism for Indonesia’s future, highlighting solar energy as a beacon of hope for villages, districts, regencies, and remote islands. By harnessing renewable energy sources, Indonesia can lead the way towards a brighter and more sustainable future.
