Malang – Asmujiono, former Kopassus soldier who raised the Indonesian flag for the first time at the top of Mount Everest, has an interesting story about Prabowo Subianto, the figure who gave him the opportunity to climb the highest peak in the world.
He said the nutritional improvement program through the provision of free milk, which is currently being promoted by the pair number 2 candidates, Prabowo-Gibran, is truly effective for children’s growth and development. Asmujiono admitted that he had practiced this step on his child, on Prabowo’s instructions.
Asmujiono, who is a native of Malang, revealed this experience when he wanted to welcome Prabowo at the national campaign of the Democratic Party in Gajayana Stadium, Malang, East Java, on Thursday (1/2).
“The milk program is either funny or not. I used to laugh because Mr. (Prabowo) said, ‘Mas Mujiono, you are short, your wife is short, your child will be short’ ” said Asmujiono imitating Prabowo’s question. He remembered clearly that the incident happened when his first child, Eka Yudha Prasetya, was a toddler.
“When he ordered to implement the milk program, I initially objected because of my low salary, how can I afford to buy milk? Then (Prabowo), ‘okay, I will help’ and indeed he has been helping until now,” he said.
“What happened? Mr. was right, not making it up. My son’s height is 184cm, now at the Military Academy, the first child,” explained Asmujiono, who claimed to be less than 170cm tall.
He said that the program of providing milk for children is extraordinary. Asmujiono also expressed his gratitude for the assistance given by Prabowo.
“So, the program is extraordinary, it is good for bone growth, high IQ,” he said.
Asmujiono said that Prabowo is a figure who always pushes for opportunities for young people. He has no doubt about Prabowo’s abilities at all.
“I personally express my gratitude first, Mr. has given me the opportunity as a young person to achieve my dreams,” said Asmujiono.
He also stated that he is a living witness to Prabowo’s steps that always prioritize the interests of the country.
“So if anyone asks about Prabowo’s achievements, I am a doer and a living witness of him,” he said.
“I was able to raise the red and white flag at the highest peak in the world, Mount Everest. I wanted to show the world that Indonesians can,” he concluded.
Asmujiono underwent Kopassus education in 1993 and graduated a year later. He was assigned to his first duty in East Timor.
In his career journey, Asmujiono gained valuable experience, namely joining the Everest 1997 team. The group was formed to carry out the mission of raising the flag at the highest peak in the world under the direction of Prabowo Subianto, who at that time was serving as the Commander of the Special Forces (Danjen) Kopassus.
